Some of my pictures are a re-interpretation of landscapes visited during my travels, while others reflect my interest and fascination with tribal customs and motifs from present and lost civilisations, while yet others challenge our perception of reality. The human face has been symbolically represented in the form of masks through the ages, whether it be through ancestor worship, tribal ritual or dance, among others. Perhaps the mask can be a carapace of unreality, a disguise, a camouflage or a deception. My work is a celebration of this facet of human expression.
