Born in Geneva Switzerland, Beatrice followed courses at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs. She then emigrated to London in 1958 where she completed a diploma in Graphic Design at the Central School of Art & Design. The course was very liberal and Beatrice devoted 1/5th of her study to Fine Art, which had a brilliant professor, Cecil Collins, who greatly influenced her later work. Meanwhile she worked for several years as a Graphic Designer for several consultancies in London before moving to Bristol where she taught Graphic Design at the British Polytechnic for 20 years. In 1989 she took early retirement from lectureship to pursue painting more intensively. Her latest interest is designing and producing fused, stained glass panels.
